Ceramic Coating — Common Questions
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically with your vehicle's factory paint, forming a hard, semi-permanent protective layer. Unlike wax, it doesn't wash off — it lasts years and dramatically improves gloss, repels water, and resists environmental contaminants.
At Diamond Detailz, we offer 3-year and 5-year Feynlab certified packages. With proper maintenance (we'll walk you through the routine), 5-year coatings regularly outlast their warranty period.
3-year packages start at $900 for smaller vehicles and go up to $1,300 for SUVs and trucks. 5-year packages range from $1,300–$1,700. Pricing depends on vehicle size and paint condition going in.
Yes — any swirl marks, water spots, or scratches will be permanently sealed under the ceramic. We highly recommend at minimum a single-stage paint correction before application. We can quote both services together.
Ceramic coating alone typically takes 1 day. If we're doing paint decontamination and correction first, plan for 2–3 days total. The coating needs to cure for 24–48 hours after application.
Yes — you don't wax a ceramic-coated car. You wash with a pH-neutral ceramic-safe soap. Some customers do an annual ceramic maintenance boost (Feynlab offers a maintenance spray) to refresh the hydrophobic layer.
Absolutely. Many customers combine PPF for rock chip protection with ceramic coating on top for the ultimate gloss and hydrophobic layer. This is our most requested package for high-end vehicles.
